She's gonna suck you in and and she'll spit you out
She's gonna suck you in, make you twist and shout
Can't see straight but can see all around
Treading water standing on the ocean ground
You gotta cut that wave
(You' gotta ebb away)
You gotta cut that wave
(You will fall into into yourself)
You gotta cut that wave
(You gotta ebb away)
You gotta cut that wave
(You gotta run away from yourself)
Soaking wet, I'm not worth the weight
I'm not all this
I'm not waving, I am drowning
I'm not all this
Can't float away, forced by the waves
I'm not all this
Being driven by being left behind
I'm not all this
A comedy of terrors, I'm drowning in laughter
Stuck at the bottom staring up at the rafters
It's getting darker but I'm all washed out
Tide me over until she settles down
Nick Piunti's third album confirms the idiosyncratic talent of this musician who keeps churning out fantastic power-pop tunes that would rejoice even the most jaded pop-rock fan, whether young or old, if they knew about the existence of 'Beyond the Static'. POPPHIL
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
Everything that Bryan Scary touches is musical gold... at first when he branched out from the Shredding Tears to do Evil Arrows I was heartbroken... but these songs are full of the solid power-pop brilliance that his earlier work exhibited, if a bit more guitar-driven. Wonderful stuff! Matthew Laurence
